we currently run 3 different courses, and can tailor a course specifically to your cafe needs if required.
1(a) Basic Barista Training
The morning session of a one day workshop, learn the basics in Barista Skills, about the bean, coffee extraction, how to source your coffee supplier, and how to use a machine.
1(b) Intermediate Barista Training
The afternoon session of the one day workshop, apply the knowledge from the morning session into practical skills and techniques for the afternoon, with an introduction to Latte Art.
2 Travelling Barista
Ideal for those going travelling who want to know something about being a barista and what is involved, one day workshop with an intense overview of barista skills. Depending on your ability and enthusiam we may be able to arrange work experience placement on foot of doing this course before your travels.
3 Advanced latte Art
A 3 hour workshop focusing on Latte Art. Ideal for Barista’s working in the trade wanting to perfect their latte art. Focuses on Milk Texturing and how to make rosetta’s, hearts, tulips.
ABOUT the BARISTA COURSES
One day BARISTA TRAINING COURSE workshop: Dublin and Nationwide
Feb 22nd and April 11th.
This course is open to anyone looking to take part in coffee training, to learn about making coffee on a typical manual coffee machine/espresso machine. Whether for home or professional use. Our next barista training dates are Wednesday 22nd February at the watermark offices in Dublin, and April 11th at the same location.

Each Barista training session runs for 3 hours, one session in the morning the other in the afternoon. Pay online with paypal here by choosing the €100 workshop rate in the paypal window below.
The basic barista training and intermediate traning workshops run back to back. So everything you learn in the morning session from 10-1 can be put to practical use in the afternnon from 2.30-5.30.
What to expect at the Barista Training Course [Dublin]
February 22nd/April 11th morning
Barista Basics : Introduction to barista-ing course.
Introduction to machines and Coffee. Perfect for new recruits and those who have some experience working on an espresso machine
- Coffee beans and where they come from
- Roasting, roast profiles, and characteristics of various roasts
- Introduction to the coffee machine – how it works
- How to make a perfect coffee - extracting perfect espresso
- The Coffee taste – what is bitterness, acidity, body, length, crema
February 22nd/April 11th afternoon
Intermediate Session -Technical Barista Course
Technical Course, aimed at taking people from the morning session and working on what has been learnt there.
- Machine basics – temperatures, set up, installation etc
- Grinder settings
- Water pressure and pump pressure
- Troublesooting – poor/inconsistent crema, bitter coffee, over and under extraction etc
- Cleaning – group heads, backflushing, purging
- Water Softeners and filters
- General Preventative Maintenance
Travelling Barista Course
An intense one day workshop. Ideal if you are looking to get some knowledge about barista skills, and if you want to explore the opportunity of being a barista outside Ireland. Runs all day, and the price is €125 pp. You can pay using the paypal option ‘Travelling Barista’ below. The next provisional date is March 15th.

Advanced latte Art
A 3 hour workshop focusing on Latte Art. This session is for people in the industry who are somewhat competent at making coffee, and wish to perfect their latte art. It focuses on Milk Texturing and how to make rosetta’s, hearts, tulips.
What next
Perfect your barista skills, by visiting our workshops in Dublin or Nationwide and learning the intricacies of proper barista practices. Places are very limited so I encourage you to book early. These are intimate training sessions with a maximum of 5 people in each session. So, once again, in case you didnt hear me the first time – book early.
